***LOCALS ONLY - Must be within 50-minute commute*** *** Will draw 1-5 vials of blood from every patient in a high-volume clinic (100+ patients per day/15 providers)*** *** Requires recent experience/expertise with venipuncture*** Location: 12746 W. Jefferson Blvd. Playa Vista, CA Float: Culver City FM Required Qualifications: HSD/GED BLS (AHA or ARC) Flu vaccination (no exemption/no declination) Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI. Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries 2 years working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting Willingness to work with Pediatric patients Expertise with blood/lab draws and venipuncture Experience with CS-Link/Epic Preferred Qualifications: Interested in temp to perm 2+ years working as an MA in Internal Med/Family Practice 6 months of Pediatrics experience Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions Phlebotomy certification Understanding of medical terminology Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans Job Duties: Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds, and record in the medical record Assist with tracking and monitoring department specific data Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by provider NOTE: These statements describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all tasks.
