Job Title: Medical Assistant (Nursing)
Location: Oswego, NY
Guaranteed Hours: 40
Duration: 8 Weeks Contract
Pay Rate: $21/hr
Your pay is based on Local or Travel position. Travel is residence >50 miles from the facility
- MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- 40 hours, Monday-Friday, Daytime hours
- 8 weeks
- Assists with office/ medical procedures, processing patient referrals to other providers, scheduling and other duties as needed.
- Rooming patients, Getting vitals, Knowledge of our EMR, Medical Terminology, Typing Skills. Works under the direct supervision of the Practice Coordinator, designee, or provider to support secretarial and nursing staff in the areas of patient care.
- High School Diploma/GED. Medical experience preferred, clerical and computer knowledge required. Prefer at least one year experience in a medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or 3rd party insurance process preferred. PC/CRT data entry and strong customer service skills.

Clinical Duties:
- Take and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist during medical procedures.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic lab tests.

Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Patient Interaction:
- Provide patient education on health conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
- Assist patients with filling out medical forms and navigating the healthcare system.
