Duties and Responsibilities Assist podiatrists in examining and treating patients with foot, ankle, and lower leg disorders. Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and other necessary procedures. Collect and document patients' medical histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information. Provide hands‑on assistance during clinical procedures and treatments. Manage appointment scheduling, patient check‑ins, and maintain patient records in accordance with privacy regulations. Educate patients on foot and ankle care and the use of corrective devices like orthotics and casts. Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of the clinical environment and equipment. Handle administrative duties such as billing, coding, and insurance claims accurately and timely. Maintain stock of medical supplies and reorder when necessary. Operate X‑ray, MRI, and other diagnostic equipment to assist the podiatrist with accurate diagnosis. Follow all safety and infection control protocols, ensuring effective sterilization of tools and equipment. Requirements Proven experience as a medical assistant in a podiatry clinic or similar healthcare setting. A certification in Medical Assisting or a relevant field strongly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, especially that related to podiatry. Proficient in using medical software and systems for patient management. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals. Physical ability to perform the duties of a medical assistant, including assisting with patient mobility and equipment transportation. Attention to detail for accurate data entry and management of sensitive patient information. A compassionate nature and the ability to empathize with patients' pain and discomfort.
