Medical Billing Associate Responsible for maintenance of patient billing accounts and related functions including patient registration, insurance follow‑up, financial screening of unfunded patients, answering patient billing inquiries, collecting unpaid balances, and posting payments in the Regional Campus Business Office. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards and complies with all federal, state, and institutional guidelines. Major Responsibilities Claim follow up Work denials from various insurance payors Contact patients and insurance companies as needed to learn reasons for non‑payment and identify remedies to these issues Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two years of medical or general office experience or completion of related education or training and one year of experience Preferred Qualifications Prior medical insurance knowledge Previous medical billing experience Ability to communicate in English and Spanish Job Details Location: Odessa. Shift: Day. Work location: Central Business Office Ode. Travel required: None. Pay grade minimum: 17.50, pay grade maximum: 20.00. Pay basis: Hourly. Job type: Full Time. Compensation Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
