Overview NaphCare is hiring a Medical Director to join our team of medical professionals in the G.K. Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore, AL . As a Correctional Medical Director , you will be responsible for ensuring all clinical needs are met within the facility, while working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals. Responsibilities Conduct rounds in the medical and infirmary units Perform sick call visits and manage chronic care Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies Lead efforts to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of healthcare services Coordinate, lead and participate in educational and training activities May supervise Staff Physicians and other medical staff Ensure compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standards Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients' needs Qualifications Medical degree (MD or DO) Valid license as a physician in the state where the facility is located (AL) Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred) Possess a current DEA registration Currently certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Family or Internal Medicine Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Experience in general medicine, strong knowledge of current medical principles and practices, and the ability to manage and direct medical team Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues Display integrity, professionalism and adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening Benefits Health, dental & vision insurance that starts day one Prescriptions free of charge through our health plan, beginning day one Lowest cost benefits Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services 401(k) and Roth with company contribution that starts day one Tuition assistance Referral bonuses Term life insurance at no cost to the employee Generous paid time off and paid holidays Free continuing education and CMEs Equal Opportunity Employer NaphCare is an equal opportunity employer.
