Medical Director/Attending Physician of Pride Care, Attending Physician of Immunodeficiency Center (IDC)The Physician provides comprehensive patient-centered primary care to members of the LGBTQAI+ community and people living with or vulnerable to HIV. Clinically, this role provides gender affirming care including hormone therapy, comprehensive sexual wellness services, and the prevention, diagnosis, and management of HIV and related conditions in an outpatient primary care setting. As medical director of Pride Care at Jefferson Einstein, the role provides leadership for the Pride team, participates in enterprise-wide committees, and serves as a subject matter expert for the implementation of new treatments, protocols, and interventions related to gender affirming care. The Physician works collaboratively with nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality care, promote adherence to treatment, and improve long-term health outcomes. The ideal candidate is experienced in primary care, HIV care, gender affirming care, culturally competent, and committed to serving diverse and often underserved populations.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide primary and specialized care to LGBTQAI+ patients or those patients living with HIV in an outpatient clinic settingServe as physician leader for Pride Care at Jefferson Einstein; leads and contributes to the growth and development of Pride Care services, strategic planning, achievement of goals and benchmarks, represents the program internally and externallyPerform comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and risk evaluationsDiagnose and manage HIV infection and related comorbidities, including opportunistic infectionsPrescribe and manage gender affirming hormone therapy (GAHT)Prescribe and manage antiretroviral therapy (ART) and monitor treatment adherence and effectivenessPrescribe and manage pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for individuals exposed to or vulnerable to contracting HIVOrder, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and laboratory resultsProvide preventive care, including vaccinations, STI screening, and comprehensive sexual health counselingEducate patients on disease management, medication adherence, and lifestyle modificationsCollaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including case managers, pharmacists, and behavioral health providersParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Stay current with evolving treatment guidelines and best practicesRequirements:MD/DO or equivalent degreeActive PA medical license, or ability to obtain by time of appointmentCompleted ACGME residency in Internal Medicine or Family MedicineCompleted Fellowship in LGBTQIA+ and/or HIV care strongly preferred
