Job Summary (List Format):
- Perform a variety of routine and special clinical laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Conduct laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and instrument maintenance under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
- Recognize and resolve test inconsistencies and instrument/clinical problems; escalate unresolved issues to the Laboratory Manager.
- Prepare, review, and report test results accurately and legibly, ensuring critical results are communicated promptly to physicians or nurses.
- Perform and analyze quality-control tests, documenting actions and maintaining data records.
- Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules and document all related activities and corrective actions.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens following established policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation with staff, patients, and visitors.
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-service training, and on-call schedules (30-minute response time required).
- Uphold laboratory and hospital policies, procedures, safety practices, and LCHC's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area and assist with inventory control, supply requisition, and quality-assurance activities.
- Perform clerical functions, maintain laboratory files, and contribute to overall laboratory operations.
- May coordinate educational activities and assume leadership roles in daily section activities as assigned.
- Demonstrate dependability, responsibility, and ability to work with minimal supervision, especially in stressful situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
