Medical Laboratory Scientist – Contract Opportunity (West Hills, CA)

Company: Pride Health

Location: West Hills, CA 91304

Schedule: 2:00 AM – 10:30 AM (PST), with weekend rotation

Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour

Duration: 5+ months (potential for contract-to-hire)

About the Role

Pride Health is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist to support a leading healthcare facility in West Hills, CA. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with a top-tier organization and potentially transition into a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing with accuracy and efficiency
  • Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, and reporting
  • Review, validate, and release test results
  • Maintain detailed records of testing and quality control
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards
  • Troubleshoot testing issues and document corrective actions
  • Report STAT and critical results promptly
  • Manage reagent labeling, storage, and tracking
  • Participate in training, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
  • OR qualification under 42 CFR 493.1433

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of clinical lab experience (high-complexity testing preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality
