The ChristianaCare Laboratory located on the Cecil campus in Elkton, MD, is currently recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Technician/Scientist. This position is Day shift (7:00am - 3:30pm.) Every other weekend, and rotating holidays per year required.Responsibilities:Accurately performs all test procedures as listed in the procedure manual.Performs and records all scheduled instrument preventative maintenance procedures.Follows established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action if necessary.Adheres to all turnaround times, documents calls as necessary, verifies critical values and specimen identification.Verifies completion of all stat results and all routine results in a timely manner.Records workload and other statistics into computer system as necessary.Performs assigned work safely adhering to established department safety rules and practices.Performs other related duties as instructed.Requirements:Associate or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology, or Associate or bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science, or, Completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician)ASCP (MLT) certification preferred.
