Medical Records ClerkThe Medical Records Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient medical records within Meadows. This position ensures that all medical documentation is properly filed, organized, and readily available to authorized personnel, supporting efficient patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. The clerk manages the flow of medical information, including transcription, copying, and distribution of records, while adhering to privacy laws and institutional policies. This role contributes to the overall effectiveness of healthcare delivery by ensuring that vital patient information is accurate, complete, and accessible when needed.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAdministrative experience preferred.Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, coding, and other aspects of health information preferred, but not required.Assigned TasksFiles information such as nursing notes, assessments, progress notes, lab reports, x-ray results, correspondence, etc., either manually or electronically into resident charts.Collects, assembles, checks, and files resident charts.Ensures resident records are properly completed, assembled, coded, etc., before filing.Files active and inactive records as per established policiesMaintains requests for medical records forms and completes as necessary.Fax and Photocopy information as neededMaintenance tasks related to chart order, chart accuracy, and charting of current dataMeadows at Brookmeade is an EOE.
