Medical Records TechnicianThe Terraces at Los Altos is looking for an experienced Medical Records Technician to join the best team around! If you have an experience working in a long-term care skilled nursing or hospital setting, then we urge you to apply!Full Time position Schedule: Mondays- Fridays | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Pay Range: $30 - $35.00Work DutiesGather patient information by collecting information from a variety of sources; interacting with registration areas and physician's officesMaintain master patient index by completing assigned portion of daily audit trail; corrects and communicates problems according to established proceduresInitiate the medical record by creating and processing the patient care record folderMaintain record availability and purge as requiredRetrieve medical records as needed by various authorized professionals, following chart-out procedures; documenting reasonsDeliver charts to assigned areas of the health centerKeep health care providers informed by communicating availability or unavailability of the recordMaintain continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsWork with state officials during SurveyMaintains the facility's clinical record system and assists in implementing record procedures;Serves as a member of OBRA team;Performs quantitative and qualitative audits for compliance including: patients' charts; medical records for physician telephone orders, physician monthly order, advanced directive status, lab tests and other assigned audits.Conduct Medication Admin Record (MAR) AuditQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredOne year or more experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities working with medical recordsProficient knowledge of Point Click CareExperience in a long-term care skilled nursing SNF or hospital setting and applicable long-term care and acute care medical records protocolsPrior experience in a retirement community with RCFE Title 22 RegulationsLicensed either RHIT, CPC or CCS with coding experienceLicensed as Registered Health Information Technician, preferred.Ability to adapt to changes in work environmentWhat's in it for you?As the largest nonprofit owner/operator of senior living communities in California and one of the largest in the country, we are more than just a place to work.
