Lake Grove ENT (LGENT) is a well-established practice located in the Lake Grove area of Lake Oswego. LGENT is a leading otolaryngology medical practice specializing in and head and neck surgery. We are currently seeking highly organized and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Medical Scribes. This is an exceptional opportunity for aspiring medical students to gain valuable experience and contribute to the healthcare field, with a supportive relationship between the scribe, physician and administration.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with healthcare provider to accurately document patient encounters and medical histories in real-time.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) for accurate recordkeeping using EPIC, the most prominent hospital-based health record management software.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, capturing relevant information, and transcribing dictated notes.
- Organize and manage medical charts and charges, ensuring completeness and confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure seamless workflow and timely documentation.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
- Formal education as a scribe or related field work experience are highly preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency and/or strong ability to learn medical terminology, abbreviations, and charting.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
