Job Description:
This is a non-clinical position that does not require a skills checklist. The Medical Staff Coordinator:

Coordinates, completes, and provides supervision for the primary operational functions of Medical Staff Services.

Responsibilities include credentialing, privileging, proctorship, and orientation.

Serves as a resource for the VPMA, Medical Staff, and other stakeholders.

Applies knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards to maintain compliance with Medical Staff and hospital policies.

Experience with Echo Credentialing (credentialing software) or Healthstream.

Experience in a Joint Commission or NCQA-accredited facility.

Required Certifications:

None required.

Strongly Preferred:

Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Accredited University or training.

Education Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent in General Studies (required).

Associate Degree in Healthcare (preferred).
Essential Functions:
-
Compile credentialing, privileging, and peer review actions for the Board of Directors' Quality Committee.
-
Assist Department Chairpersons and Credentials Committee members by providing necessary application information.
-
Plan, organize, and direct confidential research for initial appointments and recredentialing/reappointments of physicians, dentists, and AHPs.
-
Develop and oversee orientation programs for new appointees.

Maintain and update proctorship review forms, files, and processes to ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.

Assist the VPMA and Bylaws Committee in maintaining and revising documents.

Respond to Joint Commission and other surveys, coordinate successful completion, and assist in action plan development.

Evaluate document revisions for regulatory compliance.

Utilize the MIDAS database for tracking and reporting processes.
-
Provide project assistance to the VPMA, Medical Staff, and others as requested.

Perform all other assigned duties.
Orientation Period:

Minimum of 2 weeks.
Scheduling:
-
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Weekend Rotation: No weekends.

Holidays: No holiday shifts required.

RTO Approval: Manager discretion.
