Job DescriptionJoin Cottage Health as a temporary Medical Staff Services Specialist. The Medical Staff Services Specialist provides full administrative, secretarial and support services for Medical Staff, ensuring the efficient operation of Medical Staff Office. Performs a variety of coordination tasks. Major accountabilities include: Assist with the coordination of meetings for Medical Staff Committees and Departments. Prepare agendas for meetings. Follow-up as required. Transcribe and distribute minutes of Medical Staff Committee and Department meetings; maintain confidentiality of all proceedings and files. Process initial staff applications and reappointment applications. Maintain physician files and records. Prepare correspondence and reports, to include all-staff mailings, as required. Answer, screen and initiate telephone calls, re-routing appropriately. Receive and route incoming mail. Maintain and update Medical Staff Committee and Department rosters, yearly review of Medical Staff Department Rules and Regulations. Maintain quality assurance files in Midas system; assist with QI and peer review paper work for medical staff departments. Prepares medical staff membership reports, statistics, spreadsheets as needed by hospital administration. QUALIFICATIONS All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. LEVEL OF EDUCATION Preferred: AA degree TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum: Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills Proficient at Adobe Reader/Writer Minimum 55 wpm keyboarding/typing speed Medical terminology YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Preferred: Previous experience in Medical Staff ServicesAbout UsCottage Health is a leading acute care hospital system, located on the central coast of California, widely known for our superior patient care, innovation, medical research and education.
