Perform tests and report results to physicians for use in diagnostic, treatment and/or monitoring the treatment of disease; perform tasks, duties and/or complex tests in all areas of the laboratory assigned including hematology, immunohematology, immunology, microbiology, microscopy, routine chemistry and therapeutic drug monitory in accordance with established laboratory protocols and procedures; perform phlebotomies including arterial punctures, capillary punctures and venipunctures as appropriate for the patient requiring the procedure; process specimens utilizing protocols and technical knowledge; calibrate, standardize and maintain instruments following established procedures; perform quality control, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting protocols to ensure proper functioning of instruments, reagents and procedures; validate reports and results of tests performed; deliver patient reports according to times indicated in the Policy and Collection Manual; assist with orientation and teaching of students and new employees; research and develop new procedures as assigned; follow established safety practices including biohazards, exposure control plan (blood-borne pathogens), infection control to include universal precautions, employee right to know (hazardous chemicals) and chemical hygiene standards. May mentor less experienced team members. Special Skills Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology and ASCP Certification or North Dakota Med Tech license or be immediately eligible.
