ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The team you will represent is pivotal to our intelligent edge offerings in the Simulation platform that supports the definition, development and deployment of digital systems. Your contribution to this role will impact the success of Wind River’s Simulation offering in the embedded space where Simics is used for simulation and modeling of processor architectures, System on Chips, devices, boards and etc. The focus of this role is to work with an elite team of SIMICS developers within Intel and WR to enhance and sustain the SIMICS 7 product lines. YOUR ROLE Report directly to Manager of Engineering, Simics Platform. You will be an integral part of the highly skilled "Simics Simulation" engineering team developing and sustaining technologies for the Simics offerings. As a Member of Technical Staff on the team, you will collaborate with product management, architects, and Intel Simics team to scope, estimate, design, develop, and deliver capabilities that will enhance and improve the Simulation platforms. Develop Simics device models Integrate device models into virtual systems Bring-up virtual systems Scripting Simics to test specified scenarios Debug and troubleshoot Resolve problems reported from both internal and external customers HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are: Essential for this role: BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience A minimum of 7+ years of embedded software development experience Experience with low level embedded software (e.g. BSPs and device driver) development, debugging/trouble shooting Strong C and Python programming skills. Be able to produce high quality code fast. A good grasp of computer architecture and familiarity with the major embedded hardware architecture (e.g. ARM/PPC/x86) Familiar with GIT and SVN. Good spoken and written English Honest and reliable Solid decision-making skills and judgment Quick learner, exhibit a high level of self-motivation and require minimal supervision Should be a hands‑on type of person with the initiative to dive in and do whatever is necessary to get the task completed Desirable for this role (nice to have): Experience with simulation technologies is a bonus. Simics or QEMU is preferred, but other technologies such as SystemC is also a plus. Experience with VxWorks, Linux, U-Boot, UEFI, BIOS is a plus. Familiar with Agile methodology and processes a plus.
