Salary: $81,765

The Mental Health Therapist will provide professional, quality program services to the clients residing in places that are not meant for human habitation and/or are frequently sheltered or unsheltered. Provide services in the community and in the clinic to individuals in need of therapy and assessment.  Serves as an advocate and liaison for and on behalf of residents' rights and benefits.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build rapport with clients to engage them in needed services
  • Provide crisis de-escalation and crisis assessment
  • Practice harm reduction techniques
  • Utilize crisis assessment tools for suicidal and aggressive behavior.
  • Work with the homeless outreach team and prescriber to provide therapy, assessments, and coordination.
  • Make referrals to appropriate mental health and substance use programs.
  • Make referrals to social service programs
  • File reports with Vulnerable Adult, Child Protection, the Ombudsman’s Office, and other mandated/required reports when applicable. 
  • Actively and assertively engage and reach out to clients’ family members/significant others, including other providers or partners in homeless services systems
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled team meetings.
  • Must transport clients in the community.
  • Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner.
  • Participate actively in on-going professional growth and development; maintain appropriate professional behavior and participate in appropriate supervision.
  • Maintain a pattern of regular work hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required:

  • Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field.
  • Qualified as a Mental Health Professional, maintaining an LICSW, LP, LPCC, or LMFT license.
  • 2,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Preferred:

  • Experience with unsheltered population
