KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The Merchandising & Inventory Support Analyst is responsible for supporting critical processes that assist the Merchandising and Inventory Management teams. This position will leverage the applicants strong organizational skills, project management skills, interpersonal skills, and computer skills to broaden their understanding of Merchandising and Inventory Management while assisting over 100 users in practices of Forecasting, Planning, Budgeting, Allocation, Order Management, Product Lifecycle management, and Vendor support agreements. The applicant will lead graduated responsibilities related to system support and processes such as Open to Buy, Vendor Terms Management, Vendor deductions, accruals, and reconciliation of deal agreements, summarizing and collecting submitted budgets and forecasts, and other general operational support.


Job Responsibilities:

Leadership and People Skills:

  • Works collaboratively with 2-5 support team members, providing expertise to assist fellow team members with training, business process, creating new MS Office reports and tools, coaching, problem solving techniques, and escalating issues for resolution
  • Manage and maintain strong merchant and planning relationships.

Project Management:

  • Will lead reporting projects, publishing a variety of Forecasting, Budgeting, Inventory Management, and Vendor Income reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Product Knowledge Focus:

  • Will provide support for budgeting, forecasting, ordering, planning, order management, vendor terms & deal collection systems.
  • Will champion UAT efforts for related Inventory Management and Merchandising systems in relation to bug fixes, enhancements, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Utilizes MS Office tools with heavy emphasis on Excel, Access, Word, and Powerpoint to track and enter deals, capture transactions, and provide transactional level detail

Performance Metrics:

  • Partner with Merchandising leadership to collect annual vendor support budgets and collect monthly forecasts
  • Reconciles transactions, discrepancies, and disputes with Finance, Accounting, and Accounts Payable.
  • Executes monthly processes to calculate, process, and collect vendor income transactions for Scanbacks and New Store discounts in a MS Access database tool. An emphasis will be placed on transaction reporting integrity, meeting monthly timelines, and minimizing write-offs.
  • Will work collaboratively with other process owners on other vendor income types [Co-Op, MDF, Financing, Rebates, Price Protections] to ensure timely reporting and recognition of income.
  • Maintains a master Vendor Terms repository for the enterprise and ensures all relevant systems are reflective of current vendor support agreements and socializes changes to respective stakeholders with updates provided to budget and forecasting schedules.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of process including deliverables, due dates, and timelines
  • Identifies process gaps, highlights opportunities, and diagnose bugs or issues, escalate, prioritize and log issues for resolution
  • Participate in training and rollout of tools and reports, providing project updates as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Facilitate meeting discussions with category management teams to assist in closing the gaps for any shortfalls or maximizing opportunities.
  • Support the category buyers with training and business process to submit their agreements into system databases so that transactions can be calculated and then processed for payment.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & Requirements:


  • Bachelors Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Business Management or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in business administration (in addition to degree or years of previous experience), preferably with experience in operations management and product ownership.
  • Strong computer skills with high proficiency in Excel. Possesses strong interest and aptitude to learn more technical skills including advanced Excel formulas, Pivot tables, and trouble-shooting as needed with VBA and SQL
  • Familiarity with finance, accounting, and accounts payable processes and terminology

Pay Rate: $71,200- $86,600 K / salary depending on background and experience.
