ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Iron Mountain Media & Archive Services is seeking an entry level Metadata Technician for media asset metadata and inventory management.

This role will support all metadata production services including: inbound, outbound, metadata collection, inventory updates, bar-coding RFID, and scanning in the studio space reporting directly to the Studio Manager/Studio Supervisor. This role requires a basic understanding of data entry, media inbound/outbound workflow process, databases, spreadsheets, metadata schemes and inventory systems.

Location: 6005 Dana Way Antioch, TN 37013

Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Pay rate: $17.50/hr

Temporary to Permanent opportunity

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Media asset inbound/outbound, triage/research, manual and automated metadata collection, media format identification, inventory ingest, barcoding, asset box scanning and project support
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate and general maintenance/upkeep of existing metadata systems and equipment
  • Recommend and test new and used equipment (hardware and software) including software version, driver and firmware update management
  • Research media format and metadata identification/verification
  • Project support, work logs, asset tracking, chain of custody, archival engineer reports for all asset production work

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Baseline proficiency across multiple databases, scanning, and inventory management systems
  • Basic understanding of archive organization, inventory and tracking
  • Mac and PC proficiency
  • Electronic file delivery and backup solutions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, multi-task and work with tight delivery deadlines
  • Exceptional capabilities tied to effective collaboration, communication, listening, negotiation, assertiveness, self-management, and accountability is expected. This position requires daily interaction and with individuals in a studio and business environment to deliver on goals.

PREFERRED

  • A Bachelor Degree or Certificate from an accredited multi-media, film, photojournalism, graphics, archive management school or technical program
  • General familiarity with historic analog and digital rich media formats (audio, video, film and photographic)
