Position: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse(LPN/LVN)

Start Date: 3/4/2025

Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Bellaire, MI, 49615

Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days, 12

Shift Notes: Days 7a - 7p 36 hrs/week

Weekend Requirements: Weekends as needed /Holidays as needed

On-Call Requirements: None

COVID-19/FLU Requirement: Covid Vaccine - strongly encouraged -- (if declining, mandated to wear a mask)

Traveler Policy: The facility Address is across from the Humane Society and the facility may occasionally have a Canine support visitor. If the Clinician is afraid of dogs, may not be the best fit

Scheduling: Every other weekend along with 2 shifts during the week to make 36 hours per week. Block scheduling CANNOT be guaranteed.

** Please note no more than 5 days RTO will be approved, less is better! All RTO must be requested at the time of submission. Thank you!

** MUST have completed at least '1' successful travel assignment (note on work history)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Administers prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and facility policies and procedures.

2. Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatments and examinations of residents.

3. Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor, physician, and family of resident's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

4. Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of the resident.

5. Assigns duties and coordinates nursing services on the resident unit to ensure resident needs are met by instructions of physicians, federal and state regulations, and facility procedures.

6. Consult with the Shift Supervisor on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure resident needs are met.

7. Report all complaints or unusual problems to the supervisor. Assist with the completion of facility complaint reports.

8. Participates in orientation training and evaluation of nursing personnel.

9. Evaluate nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.

10. Assigns duties and coordinates nursing service on the resident unit.

11. Observe nursing care and visit residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed, and treatment is administered following the Physician's instructions.

12. Assumes responsibility and maintains records for unit narcotics.

13. Inspects resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness and comfort.

14. Responsible for documenting admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies and procedures.

15. Participate in the care plan process, and complete nursing assessments and resident care plans accurately and timely on assigned residents.

16. Completes special projects and audits at the direction of the Supervisor, CCC, or Director of Nursing.

17. Maintain all educational requirements for the State of Michigan to keep the license current. Attend facility in services and ward conferences as assigned.

18. Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect; know and comply with all Resident's Rights rules; and promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to the charge nurse.

19. Must have regular and attendance.

20. All other duties as assigned.

Additional Facility Information

  • May be asked to serve in Charge capacity
  • no block schedule guaranteed
  • every other weekend required
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ Years Experience - Required
  • Travel experience required
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) - Required
  • Clinician MUST be able & willing to work the set schedule created by the Facility. BLOCK scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time

Submitting Requirements:

  • Work History including explanation of any gaps in employment surpassing 3+ months
  • A skills checklist for pertinent specialty
  • At least 1 supervisor reference from within the previous two years --- 2nd MUST be obtained prior/during onboarding ---
  • MI LPN license
  • applicable certifications... if required per the submittal/certification requirements
  • COVID vaccination card, if applicable
