Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Days, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8

Shift Notes: Monday through Friday, 730a-400p

Weekend Requirements: On-call is every other week, Monday through Sunday. Weekday call is 4p-730a; weekend call is 4p Friday through 7a Monday.

Further Specifics:

  • Nonbillable Hours: 12 hours of initial hours
  • OT/Holiday/Call back Markups: 1.1x Regular rates
  • Extension Discount: $1/hr on the initial extension.

Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities of nuclear medicine at a technical level that will produce high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Specializes in performing diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging.
  2. Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures and addresses patient concerns to foster a sense of comfort and confidence in patients and ensure the needs of individual patients are met.
  3. Operates and maintains all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment to ensure it works properly.
  4. Performs diagnostic studies including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas to obtain diagnostic information that correctly captures the images requested by a physician.
  5. Properly identifies, prepares, and/or administers medications/substances that are within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
  6. Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self. Complies with all The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  7. Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
  8. Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing.
  9. Performs all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment.
  10. May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
  11. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine. Required:
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Required:
Health system-wide profile standards
  • References NOT required.
  • A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required. All other professions outside of Nursing are not required but preferred.
  • Michigan license verification is required for nurses. Please provide LARA and Nursys; if there is a license hit, it would be in the traveler's best interest to provide a write-up of what happened for the manager's review.
  • Physical copies of certifications are only required in the profile if listed above.
  • Full-time employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
