Job Description ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED. Ready for your next challenge? We are looking for an engineer with strong Java, MapReduce, and Cloud experience to scale critical backend tools. At Nyla, we provide high-performing, reliable solutions that advance our nation's mission. We seek an upbeat and dedicated engineer to join our development team and build and optimize mission-critical cloud analytics platforms. In this role, you will leverage modern big data and cloud infrastructures to tackle complex data challenges. From writing efficient, scalable code to implementing advanced distributed processing frameworks, your work will ensure our applications deliver reliable intelligence at scale. If you are a solution-focused engineer who loves pushing technical boundaries, let’s achieve more together. The annual base salary range for this role is $146,000–$173,000 (USD). The range does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. Required Skills Java core development: strong, hands‑on programming experience building scalable, high-performing applications using modern Java frameworks. Big data processing: deep technical understanding and direct development experience with MapReduce frameworks. Cloud architecture: solid background developing software within complex, secure cloud environments. Mission platform experience: familiarity and hands‑on experience utilizing the QTA platform. Education Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field) preferred, or equivalent professional experience with 7 years of experience, or 11 years of relevant experience. Desired Skills Experience with additional distributed processing tools and cloud‑native databases. Strong communication skills with a team‑first mindset, focused on delivering clear, actionable technical solutions. Proactive approach to identifying system bottlenecks and contributing to architectural improvements.
