Who Are We?
Specialty Tutoring is a local nonprofit learning center serving Fort Wayne for 24 years. Thanks to amazing community support, construction is complete on a brand-new facility, and we are ready to train more quality instructors to eliminate the waiting list of kids who need us!
Language Arts Academic Coaches work 1:1 with kids in grades 612 who need homework assistance & test prep in English, Social Studies, and subjects that rely on reading comprehension and writing skills.
This job is a good fit for someone who....
has instructional experience with middle or high school Language Arts curriculum.
has ability to teach and review current curriculum and coach kids to use effective organizational & study skills.
has comfort learning new technology or prior experience with platforms and devices that students utilize to manage their school assignments.
has a passion for helping kids but doesnt want full-time work.
Academic Coach positions are:
+Part-time, flexible, & school-year based 2 to 4 after-school/evenings a week w/optional Saturdays (8 to 20 hours including lesson planning). Hours available are due to student demand.
+Professional Quality in-house program training provided. Previous experience with this age group required. 2 or 4yr degree preferred.
+Long-term Grow personally using your unique talents to contribute to our kids and our organizations success.
