Mig Welder Apply
Job Description:
Hands-on experience MIG welding structural steel in a manufacturing or shop environment. Comfortable reading drawings/blueprints, fitting, and welding steel components. Reliable and willing to work extended hours and overtime. OSHA awareness and proper PPE usage required.
Essential Job Duties:

Select, measure, cut, and join metals to specifications.

Prepare metals and work surfaces for safe and effective welding Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.

Inspect completed welds for strength and appearance.

Read and interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.

Follow verbal and written instructions.

Train and mentor welding recruits as needed.

Clean, inspect, and maintain welding equipment and tools.

Diagnose issues and troubleshoots as required.

Read a tape measure and use basic hand tools (squares, hammer, chisel, banding equipment, etc.).

Load parts into jigs.

Operate forklifts and shop machinery to transport materials.

Follow all welding safety guidelines and regulations.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
-
Experience with MIG welding, layout, fit-up, and blueprint reading.

Ability to produce quality welds without cold lap or undercuts.

Ability to operate forklifts, welders, air tools, grinders, overhead cranes/jibs, oxy-acetylene torch, etc.

Punctual, dependable, and able to work scheduled hours.

Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
-
Effective, professional communication with coworkers.
Preferred: Welding certification
