Western Engineering Co Inc is seeking a skilled and experienced Milling Foreman to join our dedicated team in the construction and paving sector. In this key leadership role, you will oversee milling operations, ensuring that projects run smoothly, safely, and within budget. Your expertise will be crucial in managing the milling crew, equipment, and resources while adhering to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of milling operations, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a commitment to fostering a safe work environment. You will collaborate closely with project managers and other foremen to coordinate daily activities, assess site conditions, and ensure timely project completions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant construction projects while leading a talented team and maintaining Western Engineering's high standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise milling operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety protocols
  • Lead and manage the milling crew, providing training, support, and performance oversight
  • Conduct site assessments to determine necessary milling techniques and equipment required
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to prevent downtime
  • Work with project managers to establish schedules and allocate resources effectively
  • Ensure clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and team members regarding project progress
  • Implement best practices and improve workflows to enhance productivity and quality
  • Document and report any safety incidents or operational issues to management.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Milling Foreman or in a similar position within the construction sector
  • Strong understanding of milling processes, machinery, and safety regulations
  • Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong communication ability
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Physical ability to work in outdoor environments and handle machinery
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening.
