Resources: Commodity procurement and supply business mainly feature plastic chemicals, metal minerals, agricultural products, forest products and mechanical and electrical products, such as five general resins, EVA, fish meal, whey powder, palm oil, latex, steel, non-ferrous metals, automobiles, etc.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join our client, part of a prestigious lineage, being backed by Fortune Global 500 company, which boast extensive experience in supply chain and manufacturing. Specifically, our project, located in an area rich in laterite nickel ore reserves, is set to produce 2.5 million tons of stainless steel billet and slab annually. As Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimizing sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies to ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts and terms.
- Oversee the sourcing and procurement of materials essential for our manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for materials and products to avoid overstock and shortages.
- Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations and laws.
- Conduct market analysis to get the best purchasing deals.
- Evaluate proposals from vendors and select suitable suppliers.
- Ensure that the procurement activities reflect ethical procurement practices.
- Work closely with the logistics team to ensure the timely arrival of materials.
- Regularly assess supplier performance and develop improvement plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the organization to ascertain procurement needs and specifications.
- Manage and mentor the procurement team and establish departmental performance metrics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is mandatory as it is required to liaise with key stakeholders.
- Open for any industry, including FMCG and Retail industries.
- Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating contracts.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
- Familiarity with international trade and export-import processes is an advantage.
