Required:
High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

Job Title: Learning Center Landscape Preparator
Supervisor: Manager of Youth Education
Job Code: Temporary seasonal 67 day
Pay Range: $18.00/hr

Principle Responsibilities:
80% Maintenance, Care, and Upkeep of Under the Oak and Green Play Yard
Regular upkeep and safety checks on play elements in Green Play Yard, Children’s Garden and Under the Oak.
regular inspection of Learning Center landscapes to ensure they are safe and in good working order.
Report landscape conditions, project updates, and concerns to the Learning Center Horticulture Coordinator
replacement of play materials including books, brushes, bowls, trowels, sticks, pinecones, tree cookies etc.
Weekly clean up (including weeding, loose parts and materials organizing, and sweeping pathways before public programs

20% Learning Landscape Care Planning:
Work with LC Hort Coordinator to develop and implement new play elements
Work with LC Hort Coordinator to develop and implement a landscape care plan.
Other building and designing projects as assigned

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is a community outreach unit of the University of Minnesota’s College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences. The Arboretum is located west of Minneapolis/St Paul and its 1,200 acres traverse the municipalities of Chaska, Chanhassen and Victoria. As a member of the American Public Garden Association and an accredited museum through the American Alliance of Museums, the Arboretum is a tremendous public asset.
