The City of Maple Valley Parks & Recreation Department seeks to hire a Mobile Recreation Supervisor for the 2024 Summer Season at beautiful Lake Wilderness Park. Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, this position is responsible for developing, supervising, and management of On the Move Mobile Recreation Program and associated staff.
Among other job responsibilities, this position will:
- Assists Recreation Coordinator with the planning, implementation, and coordination of the On the Move mobile recreation program while maintaining a safe, fun, and enriching environment for all participants and staff
- Supervises and leads participants through planned activities such as arts & crafts, playground activities, games, sports etc.,
- Acts in a leadership role over an assigned program. Assist with the supervision of volunteers, staff, and program participants to meet the needs of the program or event
- Coordinates with outside community partners Foodbank, Library etc.,
- Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of recreation programs. Completes and maintains proper forms, reports, timesheets, attendance reports, and promotion of the program
- Ensure safe and clean facility for participants including making recommendations for improvement and performing light custodial duties.
- Cleans up the activity area and return equipment to proper storage areas, turn off all equipment, lights, electronics, perform minor custodial duties, and properly secure area at the end of a work shift Determines program equipment and supply needs. Assist with the distribution, care, use, and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Maintain supply and equipment inventories

Education, Experience & Special Requirements:

- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Possess a current First Aid/CPR certification before programs begins, or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire
- High School diploma or equivalent required, college level course work preferred
- Lead experience with teenage youth recreation and/or education programs
- Minimum of one year of experience with planning, coordination, and implementation of recreation programs Valid Washington Drivers License or ability to obtain one by start of employment

This is a seasonal position, eligible to work up to 5 months and may work an irregular schedule that includes some evenings and weekends as dictated by City programs and special events. This position is FLSA non-exempt and is eligible for overtime compensation. $20.00 - $23.40 per hour, DOE.
