Mohs Medical Assistant/Medical Assistant Busy dermatology practice in Spotswood, NJ is searching for a reliable Mohs Assistant/Medical Assistant to perform clinical duties to keep our dermatology practice running efficiently. The Mohs Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing Mohs surgery. This position ensures the maintenance of a safe, efficient, and quality-focused environment by conducting pre-surgical evaluations, providing patient and family education, assisting with surgical procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining meticulous patient records in both electronic and physical formats. Practice performs Moh’s 2-4 days per month. In addition, the dermatology medical assistant will assist the provider in day-to-day dermatology patient flow. Responsibilities Recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality. Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical and surgical procedures and other patient care. Preparing MOHS paperwork and instruments, assisting during procedures, bandaging, suture removal, educating patients on wound care. Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families. Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA. Key Skills High level of professionalism Attention to detail with a strong ability to multitask Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of electronic medical health care record systems Excellent computer and phone skills Job Type Full Time or Part Time (Moh’s 2-4 days per month) Ability to be flexible to cover as needed greatly appreciated. Fast paced environment Experience Experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital Dermatology experience. Experience in MOHS assistance.
