Monitor TechnicianThe role and responsibility of the Monitor Technician is to monitor patients' heart rhythms using specialized equipment. They constantly observe the cardiac monitor's screen, interpret the data received, and report any significant changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team, such as nurses or doctors. EMT), Certified Cardiographic Technician preferred.Experience Required:Proven work experience as a Monitor Technician or a position that requires frequent EKG interpretations (EMT, AEMT, etc.)Excellent ability to monitor EKG rhythms and recognize abnormalities.Knowledge of medical terminologySpecial Requirements:Basic computer skills required. Knowledge of working within an electronic health record desired.Cognitive Requirements:Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Ability for high performance under stressful situations. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through.Physical Demands:Able to stand/work for most of an 12 hr. shift. Must be able to bend/lift 25-50 lbs. (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.).Environment:Potential exposure to blood body fluidsPotential for exposure to contagious diseasesPotential for periods of high stress
