MS System Engineer Apply
Job Description
Akkodis is seeking an MS System Engineer for a Contract with a client in Gaffney, SC/Gastonia, NC (on-site 5 days a week- 3 days at home site and 2 days secondary). The role requires CCNA‑level expertise with hands‑on Cisco networking experience, strong understanding of TCP/IP and security best practices, and the ability to support manufacturing and industrial network requirements.
Rate Range: $35/hour to $40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
MS System Engineer job responsibilities include:
Install, configure, test, and upgrade routing, switching, firewall, and network security devices while following formal change management processes.
Monitor network performance proactively, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve connectivity, latency, and reliability issues across IT and OT environments.
Act as a liaison between IT and manufacturing/OT teams, gathering requirements and translating them into network designs and firewall rule requests.
Ensure compliance with network security policies and best practices, supporting vulnerability management, incident response, backup, and recovery activities.
Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and asset records aligned with operational and security standards.
Support industrial networking initiatives by applying knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, Purdue/CPwE architectures, and Cisco-based network solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
1–3+ years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise or industrial network environments using Cisco technologies.
CCNA certification (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting; CCNP preferred.
Experience with network security, firewall rule management, and IT/OT integration, including familiarity with Purdue/CPwE models and manufacturing or ICS environments.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
