Position Overview
We are seeking a Staff Engineer I to join our growing engineering team. This is an entry-level professional role designed for recent graduates or those beginning their careers in engineering. The Staff Engineer I will develop foundational technical skills, apply prescribed techniques and procedures, and gain exposure to the engineering industry while contributing to a wide range of projects. Work assignments are routine, performed under close supervision, and aligned with established criteria. The role builds foundational engineering or design knowledge, gains industry exposure, and develops awareness of professional and ethical responsibilities. This position is ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection: Gather project information, documentation, and field data to support engineering tasks.
  • Computations & Analysis: Perform standard engineering calculations and basic technical analysis under supervision.
  • Drawings & Documentation: Assist in preparing drawings, reports, and visual aids for project deliverables.
  • Field Observation: Observe construction activities and conduct basic environmental investigations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior staff, following prescribed procedures and demonstrating initiative.
  • Minimal client contact; only as directed by the Account or Project Manager.
  • Regularly interacts with other staff.
  • Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments.
  • Reports consistent with current organizational structure.

Salary range: $70,000-$80,000

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Ability to perform standard engineering computations, basic site plan support, and drawing preparation
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD; willingness to learn Civil 3D and other design tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to perform field work and construction observation
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Professional licensing is not required at this level
