Our Music for Autistic Learners program focuses on fostering creativity and self-expression through music therapy and education. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Music Teacher who specializes in working with autistic learners.

Position Overview
The Music Teacher for Autistic Learners will be responsible for developing a music curriculum tailored to the unique needs of autistic students. This position requires patience, creativity, and the ability to connect with students on an individual level while using innovative teaching methods to inspire a love for music.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement music lessons that are accessible and engaging for autistic learners, utilizing various teaching strategies and resources.
- Assess each student's abilities and needs to create personalized learning plans that promote growth and interest in music.
- Facilitate a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages social interaction, communication, and collaboration through music.
- Collaborate with parents, special education staff, and therapists to ensure an integrated approach to each student's educational journey.
- Organize and conduct performances or showcases that celebrate student progress and achievements.
- Continuously evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods as necessary to meet evolving needs.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with autistic learners in an educational or therapeutic setting.
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and effective teaching strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Proficiency in a variety of musical instruments and teaching methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students and their families.

Preferred Skills
- Certification in Music Therapy or training in music interventions for special needs education.
- Experience in using technology and adaptive instruments to enhance music learning.
- Background in song-writing, music production, or conducting musical ensembles.
