Job Description
We are seeking an experienced field-based commercial professional to join our team as a Nanopore Account Executive. Call on R&D laboratories in a variety of industries including academic, government, biotech and pharmaceutical companies! Identify and close new business, application development, and supply agreements for GridION and PromethION in complex selling environments. Additionally, you will be responsible for protecting and growing our base accounts and developing strategic account plans to further develop our business.
This is a remote position covering the St. Louis, MO / Kansas City, MO territory.

Coordinate efforts in the territory with the Inside Sales Specialist, Field Applications and Sequencing Specialist; liaise with marketing colleagues to develop territory plans to drive business objectives in the US Region. Be responsible for sales, sales forecasting, marketing feedback, best practices development, ongoing training and development, reference site development and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities.
Responsibilities
We'll expect you to have a BSc (preferably in Life Sciences) and 5 years field-based commercial professional experience with at least 3 years experience with scientific instrumentation and/or high technology devices in the biotechnology, or laboratory space. Or, relevant inside sales or distribution experience with ONTs Technology or in the NGS space.
You'll have excellent organization and time management skills and be experienced in presenting and negotiating. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong communicator that can effectively engage with customers and internal stakeholders across multi-disciplinary and international teams. You know your way around CRM systems, are commercially astute with the ability to work to budgets and have an excellent understanding of the sales process. You are confident working under pressure with minimum supervision in a matrixed sales and service environment.
The salary for this role is between $120,282 and $180,423 USD. The salary offered will reflect the skills and experience of the candidate.
Certain roles within ONT are eligible annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance.

Responsibilities
- Strategic planning of activities to disrupt the existing NGS market.
- Develop detailed account growth plans in our current customer base.
- Manage top tier relationships and KOLs in their territory across broad fields of research interests.
- Coordinate and/or participate in local/regional seminars and conferences.
- Build a robust funnel and drive Sales Orders through use of consultative selling techniques.
- Actively participate in all training sessions and demonstrate proficiency by testing or other means as assigned at session completion.
- Manage administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget (free goods / samples), timely administrative and call reporting, funnel, and competitive data entries, use and maintenance of Company assets and adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions, as applicable, and all consistent with Nanopore Company policy.
