Neo4j DBA / Graph Database Administrator Location: Cincinnati, OH- Onsite Duration: Long term Experience Required: 8+ Years Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Neo4j Database Administrator to manage, support, and optimize large-scale, multi-node Neo4j/DSE cluster environments supporting mission-critical 24x7 applications. This role requires deep expertise in Neo4j architecture, performance tuning, security, and distributed systems, along with strong collaboration skills in an Agile environment. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on Neo4j DBA experience supporting critical 24x7 production systems. 5+ years of experience administering, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Neo4j (Open Source and DataStax Enterprise) in multi-datacenter environments. Proven experience setting up and managing DSE/Neo4j clusters. Hands-on experience loading and migrating data into Neo4j clusters from diverse data sources. Strong understanding of Neo4j internals, architecture, and distributed system behavior. Deep expertise in Neo4j design principles, cluster connectivity, security, and performance optimization. Advanced experience in data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning in Neo4j. Strong command of CQL queries and graph data structures. Experience with Solr and Spark implementations within DSE environments. Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language: Python, Java, Perl, Spark, or Bash. Strong knowledge of database security, performance tuning, and disaster recovery best practices. Experience building and managing Neo4j pipelines using Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Shell scripting. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Stash, or TeamCity. Prior experience working in highly regulated or large enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and manage large-scale, multi-node Neo4j/DSE cluster environments. Own end-to-end Neo4j environment setup, including architecture design, capacity planning, cluster configuration, and performance tuning. Perform day-to-day operational support, maintenance, upgrades, and patching of Neo4j databases. Monitor system health, performance, and utilization; define and track key performance metrics. Implement proactive monitoring and alerting for databases and underlying infrastructure to ensure high availability. Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes. Participate in planning and implementation of new or upgraded hardware, software, and storage solutions. Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation. Research, recommend, and implement automation and best practices for database administration tasks. Ensure data security and compliance with enterprise security standards. Collaborate closely with managers, architects, lead engineers, and application development teams.
