Neonatal Respiratory Therapist IIIWe are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist III, sometimes referred to as a Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist (NICU-RRTIII) or Neonatal Respiratory Care Practitioner (NICU-RCP). The Registered Respiratory Therapist III is an advanced-level respiratory care practitioner who specializes in treating critically ill newborns, often in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Registered Respiratory Therapist role combines expert clinical skills, advanced respiratory interventions, and mentorship or leadership duties within the respiratory care team.Shift's Available: NightsEmployment Type: Full-timeHours: 12-hour shiftsLocation: Mission Regional Medical Center Mission, TXHere are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Health, dental, and vision insurance optionsPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysBereavement leave, FMLA and other leave optionsEmployer 401K optionsTuition reimbursement optionsLife, disability, and other insurance optionsMany other amazing benefitsResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):Neonatal Respiratory Care: Deliver advanced respiratory therapy and manage ventilator settings for premature and critically ill newborns, including interventions like mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and surfactant administrationEmergency & Critical Intervention: Assist with neonatal resuscitation, intubation, and transport while working closely with NICU teams in high-risk, life-support situationsDiagnostic Testing & Monitoring: Perform and interpret blood gas analysis and other diagnostics while continuously assessing and adjusting respiratory therapies based on clinical dataLeadership & Mentoring: Act as a mentor and clinical resource for junior staff, precept new hires, and support the development of NICU respiratory protocolsCollaboration & Documentation: Partner with NICU care teams to create personalized care plans and ensure accurate documentation of all respiratory treatments and patient responsesQualificationsBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:Must be a graduate of JRCTE approved program for Respiratory Therapy, two year program preferred.High School Diploma or equivalent is requiredRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC or be a CRT with a minimum of two (2) years previous NICU experience.Must be currently licensed by the State as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.Must have current certification in BCLS.Must have current certification in NRP.Must have PALS and ACLS certification upon hire.Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must have two (2) years general experience providing respiratory care in a acute care hospital under medical direction.Must have two (2) years clinical experience providing neonatal respiratory care in an autonomous / expanded role in a level II or level III NICU or have completed a training program at The facility NICU.Must be able to communicate in a knowledgeable and articulate manner with physicians and nurses regarding patient status and care.Must be able to work with other hospital personnel in a professional and tactful manner.Must be able to deal with the public (including the patient's visitors) in a professional manner as they relate to the questions or concerns regarding the patients condition or status of care.Must be able to professionally complete all required paperwork (patient records, charting, policy/procedure, evaluations and billing etc.).May be CRT or RRT that has completed an NICU orientation at the facility NICU under the guidance of the NICU Coordinator.Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.Possess a Perinatal /Pediatric Specialty Certificate from NBRC (preferred).Additional credentials are preferred (CPFT, RPFT, ACCS etc.).Employment StatusFull TimeShiftNightsEqual Employment OpportunityWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against applicants due to veteran status, disability, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
