Job Summary:
The NERC Compliance Department is responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, monitoring, and communication of all electric reliability standards that are developed by the North American Reliability Council (NERC), the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) and the Regional Compliance Entities. Team members support this mission through key activities in the following areas:
NERC Coordination
Reliability First Coordination
SERC Reliability Corporation Coordination
ISO/RTO Council (IRC) Coordination
Standards Development
Compliance Coordination
Evidence Gathering
Compliance Assessments
Self Certifications and Spot Checks
Regional Audits
Transmission Owner Audits

Committee Participation and Leadership
Requirements
-Must be able to work independently and as part of a team on work assignments. These assignments are broad in nature involving the compilation, preparation, and analysis of various statistical/analytical data, reports, statements, studies, or projects. These assignments may span Operations, Planning, and CIP areas.
-Will be required to serve in a leadership role for Projects as well as NERC, RF, and SERC, task forces and working groups, and to actively participate and lead electric industry forums.
-Must possess demonstrated abilities of effective analytical and reasoning capabilities, refined verbal skills, and presentation skills. -Candidate must also possess the ability to effectively present information to peers and management.
-Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, determine possible solutions and draw valid conclusions.
-Work with stakeholders to ensure resolution of standards risk.
-Participate in recurring audits of each Transmission Owner’s compliance with the assigned tasks defined in company Transmission -Owner/Transmission Operator Matrix to ensure company compliance with the NERC Reliability Standards
-Conduct a review of new or revised standards, procedures or policies to identify changes needed to ensure continued compliance.
-Support client personnel serving on Standards Drafting Teams, as well as NERC and Regional committees and working groups.
-Participate in standards reviews and submission of feedback as part of the NERC and Regional Standards Development Process.
-Develop recommendations providing guidance on NERC and Regional standards directly impacting the clients' systems, capabilities, and reliability.
-Work with affected company stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage routine operations reports relevant to documenting and demonstrating compliance to NERC and Regional standards.
-Prepare client for NERC and Regional Compliance Audits, Spot Checks, and Self-Certifications.
-Update compliance tools, track effort and progress of audits and investigations, and manage library of compliance documentation.
-Participate in strengthening company controls for those requirements where a non-compliance could cause a significant reliability, financial or reputational impact.
