Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled App Developer to provide specialized information technology programming services for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. This role is critical in supporting the Accountability System used for payroll processing, mission tracking, and emergency support for the Pennsylvania National Guard.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, repairing, and enhancing current systems while developing new functionality to improve performance. This position requires active participation during state-activated emergencies to ensure system operationality.
Key Responsibilities
- Development & Maintenance: Support and advance .NET Applications (AIM) and SQL databases. Work extensively with MVC Apps and MS Power Apps.
- System Optimization: Review workflows, interface options, meta-data, and application permissions for efficiencies.
- Database Management: Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and joins. Perform data modeling and architecture alignment.
- Lifecycle Support: Handle the creation, deployment, and migration of Power Apps and Power Automate solutions across environments.
- Collaboration: Partner with JEOC staff and IT leadership to suggest and present solutions for agency reporting and database needs.
- Documentation: Prepare training manuals, system documentation, and procedures.
Technical Requirements
- Languages & Frameworks: 7+ years of experience in C#, ASP.NET Core, and MVC. Proficiency in VB.Net, JavaScript, XML, Webservices, HTML, and CSS.
- Database Expertise: 7+ years of experience writing/debugging SQL queries. Advanced skills in T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL administrative functions.
- Platforms: 5 years of experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
- DevOps: 4 years of experience with Azure DevOps (Azure Repos, Azure Boards, GitFlow, and code reviews).
- Database Engines: Experience with MS-SQL Server (2012 2019) and Oracle (12c, 19c).
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Government Experience: 4 years of experience within a Government IT environment (Highly Desired).
- Consulting Skills: Proven experience in client-facing roles engaging with mid-level to senior leadership.
- Technical Tools: Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio and Microsoft 360 (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Security Clearance: Candidates with an active Federal Secret Clearance will be prioritized.
