Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Network Engineer II to join our team, focusing on the design, integration, and maintenance of tactical and strategic communications networks. This position is vital for ensuring effective communication systems within military operations and providing solutions that align with the Army's operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Maintenance: Design, plan, install, integrate, and maintain backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks, including elements of the Defense Information
Systems Network (DISN) and the Global Information Grid (GIG).

Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather requirements from Operational Need Statements and Capability Production Documents (CPD) for Army tactical communications systems, translating these into cost-efficient, standards-based technical solutions.
Architecture Development: Develop network architecture for adjacent, higher, and lower units, as well as for allied nations, other government agencies, and commercial service interfaces.
Engineering & Integration: Responsible for the engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of the WIN-T network. Support the integration of
Data/Voice/Video/Telephony within the Tactical Network.

Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, and assist in the development of technical requirements, specifications, plans, and reports. Provide systems engineering support and conduct independent assessments.
Technical Support: Provide technical support in PM TN equipment labs, develop equipment and network configurations and products, and support technology insertion testing related to emerging PM TN Networks requirements and capabilities.
Virtualization & Storage Technologies: Utilize knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies from vendors such as VMware, EMC, NetApp, Microsoft, Dell, HP, and others.
Cisco Systems Expertise: Work with Cisco IOS and NXOS, Cisco ISE, Cisco UCS Networking and Configuration, and Cisco ASA. Proficient in
routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, and multicast, with a background in designing and implementing LANs and VLANs.

Required Expertise:
Military Network Knowledge: Knowledge of current and future tactical and strategic military communications networks, including the underlying architecture, protocols, security, network management, and physics.
Technical Proficiency: Experience in network design, integration, and troubleshooting, particularly within military contexts.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess and resolve complex network issues effectively.
Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Testing, or a related field.
A Bachelor's degree can be substituted with an additional four (4) years of related experience performing tactical network engineering functions.
3+ years of tactical network engineering experience in a military or similar environment.
Demonstrated knowledge in network design and integration.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA or similar) are preferred.
