Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer II to enhance and simplify the client experience by planning resource requirements for basic to moderately complex network systems. You will play a key role in the commercial sales cycle by guiding resource identification, forecasting, and implementation. Your passion for network enhancements and process improvements will be instrumental in optimizing our operations.

As a collaborative team player, you will work with multiple internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure network success. You will oversee protocol compatibility standards and implement network architecture and designs. This role requires occasional travel for site reviews and may include participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation, depending on the business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance client experience by supporting technical efforts and ensuring seamless network performance.

  • Lead network engineering projects by contributing to network architecture and design planning.

  • Integrate communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission, signaling links, and protocols into complete network configurations.

  • Conduct new product evaluations and resolve network issues during implementation.

  • Develop and document technical standards to maintain product and service quality.

  • Implement approved procedures and ensure successful project completion.

  • Design protocol compatibility standards, implement network enhancements, and recommend improvements.

  • Plan, optimize, and configure network systems of medium to high complexity.

  • Support organization-wide program implementations through escalated troubleshooting and issue resolution.

  • Lead and contribute to multiple projects, occasionally serving as a project team lead.

  • Mentor and guide junior team members to enhance productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific local, state, and federal regulations.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in data networking.

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and optical transport.

  • Expertise in industry specifications and standards (IEEE, ANSI, fiber optics, Ethernet, bridging, switching, and routing technologies).

  • Advanced understanding of network design, architecture, devices, protocols, and topology.

  • Experience using internal and vendor ticketing and software tools.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Spectrum Enterprise products and services.

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
