JOB SUMMARY FOR NETWORK ENGINEER:
- This Network Engineer will be responsible for LAN and WLAN administration, providing operational support in an industrial/warehouse setting, and ensuring day-to-day network operations across supported sites. You will collaborate with global teams, including engineering and IT contacts, to troubleshoot and improve network performance, with opportunities to travel domestically. Ideal candidates will have strong Cisco hardware and network management skills, with a focus on troubleshooting, customer service, and maintaining network uptime.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR NETWORK ENGINEER:
- LAN and WLAN administration
- Knowledge of wireless technology and provide operational support in an operational/warehouse environment
- Solid troubleshooting and tracing skills, Cisco hardware configuration (router, switch, wireless LAN controller), software maintenance/upgrades, continuous network improvement
- Responsible for day-to-day network operations in supported PSLD sites, including site start-ups
- Strong customer support skills and ITSM
- Monitors networks and provide network up-time for facilities
- Handle break/fix on the network
- Interacts frequently with Engineering and IT contacts at facilities, enterprise network teams & application teams for troubleshooting and investigation
- Proficient with WAN, DNS/DHCP, data cabling, & network hardware
- Network management - Cisco Prime LMS, WCS, Radius, Tacacs administration
- Asset manager for LAN/WLAN (Hardware tracking) including surplus hardware management
- 15% travel expectations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR NETWORK ENGINEER:
- Associate's degree in Computer Networking or related field is desirable
- 2-4 years of IT experience required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR NETWORK ENGINEER:
- Strong LAN/WLAN skills
- Cable management knowledge
- Cisco hardware expertise is highly preferred
- Cisco certifications [CCNA, CCNP, CCDA] are also desirable
- Experience performing LAN/WLAN implementations in new site startups.
- Experience supporting LAN/WAN implementations in remote locations.
- Teamwork skills, strong communication (both oral and written), and strong customer service skills
