Scope of Project

The State of South Carolina is looking for a Network Engineer - Consultant

Why is this position open: New Position. The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is looking for a skilled Network Administrator Consultant who will act as a point of reference for the Network Operations Center team on technical issues.

Interview Process: Two Rounds. Candidate needs to be prepared to go onsite for one or both interviews.

Candidate location: Candidates must be residents of SC, NC, or GA AND be willing to relocate within 40 miles of Blythewood, SC prior to their start date at their own expense.

Candidate will be required to travel to various SCDMV Field Offices during work hours. A Valid SC Driver's License is REQUIRED for this position. A state vehicle will be provided for travel.

Responsibilities:

Act as a point of reference for the Network Operations Center team on technical issues.

Provide support for network administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management.

Required/Preferred Skills:

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Firewalls
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Routers
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Switches
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco Administration
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto XDR

Preferred Skills

• 10+ years of experience with monitoring and tracing tools
• 10+ years of experience with core network architecture
• 10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching
• 4+ years of experience with wireless networks
• 3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure

Certification

• CCNA and/or CCNP
