The Neurosurgeon is responsible for diagnosing and surgically treating disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system. This physician provides comprehensive neurosurgical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings, using advanced surgical techniques and evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions
* Perform neurosurgical procedures involving the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves
* Manage pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care
* Interpret diagnostic imaging and neurological tests
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurology, critical care, oncology, trauma, and rehabilitation services
* Provide consultation for emergency and inpatient cases, including trauma and acute neurological conditions
* Educate patients and families on treatment options, risks, and recovery plans
* Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
* Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and continuing medical education activities
