A confidential national law firm is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Long Island, New York office. This role focuses on 100 percent defense side employment litigation, including employment practices liability matters and related workplace disputes, with the opportunity to manage cases end to end and build strong client relationships in a collaborative litigation environment.

THE ROLE

• Manage a full employment litigation caseload from inception through resolution

• Defend employers and insureds in employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, wage and hour disputes (including individual, collective, and class actions), ADA and Fair Housing-related matters, whistleblower claims, and restrictive covenant disputes

• Draft pleadings, written discovery, and substantive motions, including dispositive motions

• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses

• Participate in mediations, investigations, hearings, and trials as needed

• Provide clear, timely case updates and practical guidance to clients

LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Location:

Long Island, New York

Schedule:

Hybrid, in office 4 days per week

Compensation:

Base salary range: $110,000 to $150,000

REQUIREMENTS

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

• Active admission to the New York Bar

• At least 1 year of commercial and/or employment litigation experience

• Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to manage a litigation caseload and contribute to depositions, mediations, investigations, court appearances, motion practice, and trials

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• Law Review and/or Moot Court experience

• Employment litigation experience, including discrimination, workplace harassment, wage and hour disputes (including collective and class actions), and traditional labor-management matters

• Experience handling investigations before the U.S. Department of Labor, New York State Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and other state or local human rights agencies
