Position Summary: The New Product Development Engineer will lead the development, testing, validation, and commercialization of new engineered products and materials. This individual will combine hands‑on experimentation, technical problem solving, and project leadership to bring innovative solutions from concept into production.
The ideal candidate enjoys working across the full product lifecycle and is comfortable moving between laboratory environments, pilot‑scale development, manufacturing operations, and customer‑facing applications.
Key Responsibilities: Lead product development projects from concept through commercialization
Design and execute experiments to evaluate materials, processes, and product performance
Develop and assess prototypes using laboratory, pilot, and manufacturing equipment
Translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions
Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineering teams to support production scale‑up
Develop validation methods, testing protocols, and performance standards
Analyze technical data and provide recommendations based on findings
Generate technical reports, documentation, and project updates
Support product validation programs and field evaluations
Collaborate with suppliers, external technical partners, and research organizations
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify innovation opportunities
Maintain project timelines, milestones, and documentation
Contribute to continuous improvement and advanced manufacturing initiatives
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Textile Engineering, or a related technical discipline
At least 5 years of experience in product development, research and development, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering
Hands‑on experience with testing, prototyping, and technical problem solving
Experience working with engineered materials and manufacturing processes
Ability to design, execute, and interpret experimental results
Strong project management and organizational skills
Effective communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities
Preferred: Experience with polymeric materials, extrusion processes, technical materials, or advanced manufacturing technologies
Experience supporting new product launches and commercialization efforts
Proficiency with CAD software and technical drawings
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Stage‑Gate methodologies
Experience with data analysis and statistical tools
Familiarity with digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 concepts
