Mobile Health Team Inc., a staffing agency has an opening for a full-time permanent Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Artesia, NM, 88210

Assignment Start Date: 9/13/2024

Shifts: Days 8-5

Salary: $52,000.00 to $72,000.00

Physical therapy services are provided in response to a physician's referral and physical therapist's plan of care, following the laws governing the state of New Mexico, and within the scope of the therapist assistant's training, knowledge, and experience. This may include but is not limited to, treatment of functional mobility, motor function, muscular strengthening, sensation, wounds, ambulation, balance, and social, and environmental needs. Direct patient care is provided to individuals of all ages, as his or her caseload demands. Physical therapist assistants will assist in coordinating and providing patient and family education, and execute effective physical therapy services as appropriate. Therapist assistants will consult and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive treatment. The employee will participate in educational programs, quality improvement, and program development. Non-patient responsibilities are to be completed as assigned. Therapist assistants will pursue continued education opportunities and educational goals in addition to assisting with the marketing of physical therapy services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Providing skilled treatment of functional mobility, motor function, muscular strengthening, sensation, wounds, ambulation, balance, social, and environmental needs
  • Following an appropriate plan of care that includes measurable functional goals while considering the patient's psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs
  • Providing clear documentation that meets hospital guidelines and billing for appropriate charges promptly
  • Perform family/caregiver/patient education to increase independence upon discharge.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • Greater than one year of experience is preferred, but new graduates welcome to apply

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of a nationally accredited PTA program

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:

  • Must be eligible for current licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board.
  • BLS/BCLS required before employment begins

Shift: Mon-Fri, Days; May be required to work occasional weekends

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic computer
  • Ability to efficiently schedule and perform patient care independently
