Job Description

Job Description
Shape secure operations at a nuclear facility

Picture a typical day: you start by triaging design change submittals tied to Security Computer Systems, move into a hands-on technical review of engineering change packages using the Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-001), and wrap up by coordinating with field crews preparing for an evening multiplexer (MUX) cutover. Throughout, you’re the steady link between design intent, cybersecurity documentation, and safe, compliant implementation.

What you’ll do
  • Apply the Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-001) to technically evaluate engineering change packages for Security Computer Systems.
  • Process and track design change packages, cybersecurity documentation, drawings, vendor manuals, and calculations to closure.
  • Support installation teams during system installs and cutovers—especially complex MUX transitions—ensuring smooth changeover with minimal risk.
  • Collaborate in a tight-knit, customer-focused team to deliver outcomes aligned with stakeholder specifications.
Your background
  • Electrical engineering foundation with hands-on familiarity in Security Computer Systems.
  • Experience conducting rigorous technical reviews of engineering change packages.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset and effective teamwork to drive project success.
  • Prior nuclear site experience is preferred.
Site and regulatory credentials
  • Eligibility to participate in Vistra’s Safeguards Information program for handling SGI in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21.
  • Qualification under Vistra’s 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B Quality Assurance Program to complete the Owner’s Acceptance Review (OAR) process per NOP-CC-2003.
  • Potential need for 10 CFR 50.59 qualification to process licensing documentation, depending on project scope (other team members hold this credential as well).
  • Will be badged as a contractor for site access.
How you’ll make an impact

Your attention to detail and calm execution under change windows will safeguard critical systems, keep documentation and drawings accurate, and ensure that every modification—from a single calculation to a full MUX cutover—meets design, cybersecurity, and regulatory expectations.
