Nurse Assistant Apply
Job Summary:
This position is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care functions under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting patients with daily living activities, collecting patient data, and performing related duties to ensure efficient department functioning. Previous travel experience is required.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with routine activities of daily living, including range of motion, ambulation, positioning, skin care, linen changes, feeding, hygiene, toileting, and incontinent care.
- Collect patient data and specimens, including urine, stool, and sputum.
- Obtain and record vital signs, weights, pulse oximetry, pain assessment, and I&O.
- Communicate patient status and report changes in patient condition to licensed professionals.
- Perform incentive spirometry and transport patients.
- Assist rehab therapists and prepare patients for diagnostic tests.
- Set up oxygen therapy and perform pulse oximetry.
- Prepare rooms for admission and discharge, and provide post-mortem care.
- Assist nurses in emergency situations.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Perform oral and nasopharyngeal suctioning.
- Perform blood sugar finger sticks.
- Remove IV catheters per licensed nurse instruction.
- Perform EKGs (department specific).
- Answer unit phones and direct calls.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical records systems and document patient care.
- Perform patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment and supply needs and report malfunctions.
- Perform other related clerical and technical duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Previous travel experience
- Active CNA license (Alaska CNA license can be pending if application has been submitted)
- If AK CNA license is pending, must have a valid CNA license in another state and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program.
- BLS certification
- LTC experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent

Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs.
- No on-call requirement.
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years).
- Vehicle will be provided for use around town within a 30-mile radius of the facility.

Scheduling:
- 4x12 or 3x12 Variable shifts (traveler's choice).
- Shifts will be either Days or Nights, dependent on facility needs at the time of start date.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per 2 weeks.
- Traveler can be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks.
