Position Summary

The Nurse Manager organizes, directs, and supervises the functions of the medical/surgical and ICU units. This includes ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, maintaining safe staffing levels, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment, and managing efficient patient throughput. The role requires active participation in quality and performance improvement initiatives, as well as ensuring employees complete required annual competencies. Additionally, the Nurse Manager is responsible for professional growth in nursing leadership and required licensure while maintaining clear and open communication with the Director of the unit and the CNO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff development and training to ensure best practices in patient care.

  • Implement and support evidence-based clinical practices.

  • Oversee personnel resource and productivity management.

  • Ensure patient safety, quality care, and performance improvement.

  • Maintain regulatory compliance and accreditation standards.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the unit.
