Position Overview
SpectrumACS is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a 26-week travel assignment at Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina. This position provides medical care to incarcerated individuals within a structured correctional healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct medical evaluations and physical assessments
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
Prescribe medications within scope of practice
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Perform minor procedures as appropriate
Respond to medical emergencies
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and custody personnel
Requirements
Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner license (required prior to start)
NCCNP certification
Current DEA registration (if required by facility)
1+ years of clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or correctional healthcare preferred
Ability to work within a correctional setting
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
